Finals are Set: The Blacks vs. Red

To some committee stuff, the schedule for the finals is up on the website. I got a couple of emails from league members this past week, regarding the upcoming games schedule during the semi-finals. The playoff schedule can be found by browsing to the homepage, then linking to "Schedule/Results", and then clicking the "Playoffs" link. Game #1 is set to be played on May 5th @ 8:00PM, please note that the game times are subject to change, but players will be advise through the website a couple of days in advance.
On a different topic, during the semi-finals I noticed a few things I'd like to pass comments on. First of all, players are not allowed to show dissent towards a call made by the referee. I have seen this occur time and time again. Even captains are not allowed to argue with the referee. Here is a nice quote from our rules section, "It is expected that all league players will treat the referee with respect. Team captains (only) can approach the referee during stoppages of play to discuss concerns." Also, remember that the referee will make errors too, just like we do when we play, that is part of the game.
Secondly, I had a few players ask me who is going to be reffing the finals. At this point we are uncertain who will be reffing the finals; but that really shouldn't matter, I think all the referees do an equally good job, with different approaches. However, I do agree that consistency is the key, and it is frustrating for the players to have oscillating thoughts about what's right and wrong. The committee has talked about this and it will be a definite approach for the finals.
